India's Anuja, backed by Guneet Monga, Priyanka Chopra, and Mindy Kaling, missed out on the Oscar for Live Action Short Film as I’m Not a Robot took the win.
At the 97th Academy Awards, India's heartfelt short film Anuja fell short in the Best Live Action Short category, with the Dutch sci-fi film I'm Not a Robot taking the win.
Directed by Victoria Warmerdam and Trent, the film impressed audiences with its powerful storytelling and direction, earning critical praise and prestigious recognition.
Competing alongside The Last Ranger, A Lien, and The Man Who Could Not Remain Silent, the film was among strong contenders.

Anuja unfolds in a garment factory in New Delhi, where a 9-year-old girl works alongside her elder sister, Palak. Caught between pursuing her education and helping her financially struggling family, she faces a pivotal decision. Starring Ananya Shanbhag, Sajda Pathan, and Nagesh Bhosle, the film is directed by Adam J. Graves.
It is supported by an impressive production team, with Guneet Monga Kapoor as executive producer, joined by Hollywood’s Mindy Kaling and global icon Priyanka Chopra.
