Actor Parth Samthaan, best known for his charismatic presence on screen in shows like Kasautii Zindagi Kay and Kaise Yeh Yaariyan, has now stepped into the shoes of one of Indian television’s most iconic characters in CID.
As fans are processing this major development, his co-star, Nyra Banarjee told Moneycontrol, com and voiced strong support, expressing full faith in his ability to carry forward the legacy.
“I think he’ll do really well. He has an intense look,” she said, when asked about Parth taking on the legendary role.
“Of course, we’re all used to seeing the original ACP Pradyuman sir, but Parth has the calibre to create his own space in the show.” She said.
The original CID, which ran for over two decades, holds a nostalgic place in the hearts of audiences, with Shivaji Satam’s portrayal of ACP Pradyuman becoming a household name. Keeping with such a big name will be a big task, but Parth’s co-star believes he brings a fresh energy and intensity that will resonate with today’s viewers.
Nyra Banarjee also talked about trolling faced by Mouni Roy because of her looks in the same interview, she mentioned, "Unfortunately, we are in a business where we set beauty and fashion standards. But people need to remember we’re human," Nyra said, acknowledging the heavy expectations placed on public figures.
She emphasized that it’s perfectly fine to look different and to embrace one’s individuality, pointing out that the notion of perfection is unrealistic.

Nyra also reflected on her gratitude for the admiration she receives from fans, but urged them to understand the human side of celebrities.
"I’m glad fans look up to us, but they also have to understand that we’re not perfect," she shared. Her message serves as a reminder that everyone, regardless of their status, has their own flaws and moments of vulnerability.
