Punjabi singer and global sensation Diljit Dosanjh is facing backlash online for his comments about India’s infrastructure for live concerts. Months ago, during his Dil-luminati tour, Diljit expressed his dissatisfaction with the country’s concert venues, stating that he would not perform in India again until the infrastructure improves.
However, after witnessing Coldplay’s successful and well-organized concerts in India, netizens have taken to social media to criticize his statement.
Diljit Dosanjh Criticized for His Infrastructure Remarks
Diljit’s Dil-luminati tour was a major success, with performances in cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Pune, Kolkata, and Bengaluru. However, during one of his shows, he voiced concerns over India’s concert infrastructure, saying that authorities need to improve facilities for live performances. He suggested that better venues would enhance the experience for both artists and audiences.
Now, after Coldplay’s concerts in Ahmedabad, videos and images of the well-organized events have surfaced online, sparking a fresh debate. Fans believe that Diljit’s claim about India lacking infrastructure is misguided and that he should focus on improving his event management team instead.

What Did Diljit Dosanjh Say?
During one of his concerts, Diljit had urged authorities to invest in concert venues, stating that this industry generates significant revenue and provides employment. He also mentioned that he would not perform in India again until there were improvements in the infrastructure for live shows.
He had said:
“I want to tell the designated authorities that India does not have the infrastructure for live shows. This is a big revenue-generating space. It also gives livelihood to many. Please focus on this space as well.”
He further added:
“I will try to set up a stage in the middle while the crowd is distributed around it (to improve the concert experience). I will not perform shows here until things improve. Instead of troubling us, improve the infrastructure.”
Coldplay’s Smooth Concert Experience
Meanwhile, Coldplay’s concerts in India were highly successful, with massive crowds, top-notch sound systems, and well-managed event logistics. After their last show at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, the band expressed their gratitude:
