Bollywood actress Mrunal Thakur, who will soon be seen sharing screen space with Adivi Sesh and Anurag Kashyap in the upcoming film Dacoit, recently opened up about her experience working on the project at the film’s teaser launch.
The Sita Raman actress revealed that the film holds a special place in her career as it marks her first project shot simultaneously in two languages.
Speaking at the film’s launch event, Mrunal interacted with the audience in Marathi and reflected on the creative journey of Dacoit, directed by Shaneil Deo.
She described the film as a refreshing departure from her previous roles and spoke candidly about her limited screen time, stressing that quality mattered more than quantity.
Talking about the film, she said, “Khoop chhan vaat-ta mala. Dacoit is a very different film, and this is my first film that I have shot in Hindi and Telugu. It was an amazing experience working with Adivi Sesh. To see Hari in this avatar is really nice, the magic that he has created on-screen.”
Mrunal also shared her experience of working with Anurag Kashyap, calling it a memorable learning process. “And to work with Anurag sir was such a delight. I didn’t have many scenes, but whatever I did was fantastic. I feel like it was a schooling, you get to learn a lot,” she added.
Delving deeper into her role, the actor revealed that Dacoit allowed her to explore emotional shades similar to her critically acclaimed performance in Love Sonia. “For me, I don’t think I’ve got an opportunity to tap into similar shades like Love Sonia. It was also fantastic to work with our director, Shaneil Deo. He is so crystal clear about the vision,” she said.
Praising the director further, Mrunal added, “I think that’s what an actor wants, someone who keeps pushing to perform and give their best. The happiness that you get after giving a perfect take is immeasurable and satisfying.”
Meanwhile, the teaser of Dacoit, unveiled on Thursday, presents Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur as robbers and offers glimpses of powerful antagonists played by Anurag Kashyap and Prakash Raj. Atul Kulkarni essays the role of a police officer. Directed by Shaneil Deo, Dacoit is scheduled to release on March 19, 2026.
