The highly-anticipated action-romantic thriller Dacoit, starring Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur, is going to release in theatres on April 10, 2026.
The Telugu Hindi bilingual movie, which was scheduled to release on March 19, was postponed due to a busy box office. The news was posted by Adivi Sesh on his social media handle, where he also announced the new release date for the film. He posted, “Goldfish on April 10. In Theaters Worldwide.”
Dacoit, directed by Shaneil Deo, is a romantic action entertainer with a revenge plot. The film tracks an angry convict who seeks vengeance on his ex-lover, after bailing him out. The film has some high-octane action along with emotional drama.
Director Anurag Kashyap plays a crucial role in the film, that has already garnered attention as it marked the first film with Adivi in a pivotal role. The project has generated considerable buzz as it marks Deo’s directorial debut and has been shot simultaneously in Hindi and Telugu to appeal to a wider audience.
According to reports suggest, the release date was changed to avoid a clash with two big-budget films scheduled at the same time - including Dhurandhar: The Revenge and Yash's Toxic.
The move is expected to give Dacoit a better box office window and allow it to reach audiences without direct competition.
Meanwhile, the makers are continuing post-production work and promotional activities. With its blend of action, romance and drama, Dacoit is being positioned as one of the notable pan-India releases of the year.
