While critics acknowledged that Rosé stayed true to her chic, minimal aesthetic, some fans on social media labeled her appearance as "TikTok-coded" and claimed her makeup lacked the Met Gala drama.

This marks Rosé’s third Met Gala appearance. She made history in 2021 by becoming one of the first female K-pop idols to attend the prestigious event, invited by Saint Laurent, where she serves as a global ambassador.

The exhibition explores the evolution and significance of Black dandyism and tailored menswear from the 18th century to today.

The Met Gala’s 2025 host committee boasts an all-star lineup, including Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens, Regina King, Doechii, Usher, Spike Lee, and Angel Reese, emphasising the gala’s ongoing commitment to honoring Black excellence in style and culture.
