BTS’ V honours Korean heritage in a modern hanbok-inspired look at Vogue World 2025

V’s outfit, a custom creation by Jaybaek Couture, was nothing short of a masterpiece.

When it comes to global style icons, BTS’s V continues to redefine fashion diplomacy. The K-pop superstar turned heads at Vogue World: Hollywood in Los Angeles on October 26. He showcased a look that seamlessly fused Korean tradition with modern couture.

The event, celebrating the synergy between film and fashion, saw V make history as one of the few K-pop stars to attend.

V’s outfit, a custom creation by Jaybaek Couture, was nothing short of a masterpiece. He donned a long, tailored grey overcoat cinched at the waist with a jade and red woven belt, reminiscent of accessories once worn by Korean royalty during the Joseon Dynasty. Adorned with norigae charms, the belt served as a tribute to his heritage.

Underneath, V aka Taehyung wore a matching grey suit, complete with a crisp shirt and tie creating a monochromatic palette. The look was elevated with a wide-brimmed grey hat and black polished shoes.

Fans lauded him for “bringing Korea to Hollywood with elegance” and hailed the ensemble as “a love letter to heritage wrapped in couture.”

V was spotted seated beside Dakota Johnson, who looked radiant in a baby pink gown. The two exchanged smiles, prompting viral reactions online. Fans dubbed them “the two ultimate visuals.” Later, V took a front-row seat next to Cynthia Erivo.

Previously, the singer’s airport visuals had gone viral, attracting both admiration and harsh criticism from netizens. On October 25, V was spotted at the airport, departing for Los Angeles, dressed in a grey overcoat layered over a brown sweater and tailored trousers.

Several online users criticised his barefaced visuals, pointing out that the idol looked “different” from his usual polished image. However, loyal ARMYs and fans from across the globe have fiercely defended the BTS member, calling out the unrealistic beauty standards in the K-pop industry.

V aka Kim Taehyung debuted with BTS in 2013. He was praised for his baritone voice and unmissable stage presence. His solo record includes chart-topping singles like Singularity, Stigma, and Inner Child, as well as OST successes like Sweet Night from Itaewon Class and Christmas Tree from Our Beloved Summer.
