Nina Dobrev reacts to dating rumours with Zac Efron post-split with ex-fiance Shaun White

Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev, who recently ended her engagement with Shaun White, has been in the spotlight due to dating rumors with Zac Efron after the pair were seen together on a yacht.

Nina has now addressed the speculation. Despite the photos sparking rumors of a romance with the High School Musical actor, 37, she told TMZ on October 1 that they are not dating, shaking her head “No” when asked. When asked if they are just friends, she confirmed, “Yeah.”

The 36-year-old actress emphasized that she is focusing on herself, saying, “I’m excited for the future and the only thing that’s guaranteed is change.”

Days before, on September 18, the Daily Mail shared pictures of them swimming in the sea off the coast of Italy.

According to a source who spoke to Us Weekly, the two are simply “good friends.” The source explained, “Nina and Zac are not dating and have been good friends for over a decade.

Their friends always joke that they should date, but that is not what is going on. They have been there for each other through many phases of life and have always had each other’s back.”

Although Nina has not officially commented on her breakup with Shaun White, People reported that the split was a “mutual decision,” adding that “it wasn’t an easy one, but it was made with love and a deep respect for one another.” Nina had announced her engagement to Shaun in 2024.
