Krish Jagarlamudi’s gritty action drama Ghaati, starring Anushka Shetty and Vikram Prabhu, is set to find a new life on digital platforms.
Ghaati unfolds in the rugged landscapes of the Eastern Ghats along the Andhra–Odisha border, where the marginalised “ghaati” community is caught in the grip of an illegal smuggling empire controlled by the ruthless Naidu brothers.
GHAATI PLOT
The film's central narrative centres on Sheelavathi (Anushka Shetty) and Desi Raju (Vikram Prabhu), who have the audacity to hope for freedom from generations of exploitation.
It is a story that combines retribution, survival, and the defiance of those who will not be silenced, their quest for justice puts them up against Kundhul Naidu (Chaitanya Rao Madadi) and Kaastala Naidu (Ravindra Vijay).
WHEN AND WHERE TO WATCH GHAATI
Amazon Prime Video has confirmed that the film will begin streaming from 26 September 2025, and viewers will be able to watch it in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada.
Backed by Rajeev Reddy and Sai Babu Jagarlamudi under First Frame Entertainments, the film released in theatres on 5 September.
Although Anushka's strong on-screen persona and powerful performance were praised, the movie itself got mixed reviews, with many critics criticising its erratic writing. Additionally, it had trouble making an impression at the box office.
However, Ghaati now has the opportunity to reach a larger audience that might have missed it in theatres thanks to its OTT release.
