Exclusive - Laapataa Ladies' Nitanshi Goel on featuring in UK list of Top 50 Asian celebrities, says 'can't believe I am the youngest on this list, it's a celebration'

Nitanshi Goel in an exclusive conversation with MoneyControl spoke about her latest achievement.

Bollywood's young actress Nitanshi Goel, who won millions of hearts as Phool Kumari in the superhit movie Laapataa Ladies, is over the moon. The teenager has featured as the youngest actor in the UK list of the Top 50 Asian Celebrities in the World, previewed in London on December 11.

In an exclusive conversation with Money Control, Nitanshi said she still can't believe that she features in the list with stalwarts like Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Diljit Dosanjh.

An ecstatic Nitanshi told Money Control, that her phone hasn't stopped ringing ever since and says the news hasn't sunk in yet.

"It hasn't. The phone hasn't stopped buzzing ever since. It's been a kind of celebration. When I saw the list and I saw my name alongside such incredible personalities, I was over the moon. And just to feel like being the youngest on this list globally, it's a celebration that I'm still enjoying it, and I still can't get over it," said Nitanshi, who won hearts as Phool in Laapataa Ladies.

Laapataa Ladies is Nitanshi's debut Hindi movie, and it has also become India's official entry to the Oscars this year.

When asked about how her fans connect with her on her social media, Nitanshi says she stays 'true to herself.'

"I'm just really true to myself, and I love how they call me their goofy Nitanshi. The kind of comments that I get on my interviews and all. I am loving the love that I'm getting," she added.

While talking about featuring on the prestigious list with the biggies like Big B, SRK, Kareena Kapoor, Diljit Dosanjh, and others, Nitanshi said she aspires to work with them in her near future.

"The more you see the names, the more tingling things I get. Because these are the names I've always looked upon, and I still look upon them, and I still aim to work with them. Shah Rukh Khan sir, Alia Bhatt ma'am, Deepika Padukone ma'am, Kareena ma'am, Kriti ma'am, and Amitabh sir, they're still on my work working list. So I'm still striving to work with them," she concluded.

Celebrating her achievement

Nitanshi also said that she has been celebrating this achievement with her parents, who are "very, very supportive of her. In fact, it was today only that we were celebrating this global achievement that we had of me getting to the top 50 biggest Asian stars list. And we're also celebrating going through the name, being 3 happy people out there."

Nitanshi Goel originally hails from Noida, Uttar Pradesh, and the 17-year-old teenager won hearts with her performance as the naive and innocent Phool Kumari in Kiran Rao's directorial venture Laapataa Ladies.

Talking about the list, Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh was at the top, followed by SRK at No. 2 and Pushpa actor Allu Arjun at No. 3. Dev Patel was at No. 4, followed by Priyanka Chopra at No. 5.

The oldest actor in this list is megastar Amitabh Bachchan, at the age of 82, and Nitanshi appears among these biggies as the youngest star, aged just 17.

Nitanshi Goel made her Bollywood debut in 2024 with Laapataa Ladies, co-starring Sparsh Shrivastava, Pratibha Ranta and Ravi Kishan. The film has been produced by Aamir Khan Productions and directed by Kiran Rao.
