Diljit Dosanjh to make his Met Gala debut

Renowned actor and Punjabi music sensation Diljit Dosanjh has formally confirmed that he will make his eagerly awaited debut at the 2025 Met Gala. To the delight of his fans worldwide, the celebrity finally shared the thrilling news on Instagram after weeks of rumours and media commotion.

Diljit made a subdued but powerful announcement by sharing an Instagram Story with the caption, "First time," and the background music, "MET Gala," by American rapper Gunna. Fans celebrated the latest milestone in the singer's ever-expanding global journey as soon as the confirmation went viral.

Another significant turning point in Diljit's global ascent was his attendance at the Met Gala. Diljit enthralled audiences around the world with his sold-out Dil-Luminati Tour after becoming the first Indian performer to appear at the renowned Coachella music festival in 2023. His reputation as a cultural ambassador for Punjabi identity and Indian music is further cemented by his continuous appearance on the international scene.

Interestingly, Diljit is one of a select group of Indian celebrities set to make their debut at the Met Gala this year. He will be joining Bollywood megastar Shah Rukh Khan and actress Kiara Advani at the prestigious fashion event, which takes place on 5 May at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art. Their presence underscores the growing influence of Indian talent on international platforms.

Reflecting on his historic Coachella performance during his appearance on The Ranveer Show, Diljit candidly shared, "Although I wasn't a deserving candidate. I feel so. It was God's will. I knew it (Coachella) was big and for the first time, someone from India was going to perform there. It was a huge deal. I feel like I'm not that great a musician, but I end up getting good opportunities."

With his Met Gala debut just around the corner, Diljit Dosanjh is all set to represent Indian culture on one of the world’s most celebrated red carpets.
