Junior NTR, Jhanvi Kapoor, and Saif Ali Khan’s latest release, Devara, set the box office on fire during its opening weekend, breaking records on its first day. However, the film struggled to maintain momentum, experiencing a significant dip on its first Monday. On September 30, the film earned Rs 12.5 crore, marking a 68% drop from its Sunday collection of Rs 39.9 crore.

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film’s Monday earnings were split across languages: Rs 8 crore in Telugu, Rs 4 crore in Hindi, Rs 0.1 crore in Kannada, and Rs 0.1 crore in Malayalam. Despite this sharp decline, Devara continued to build on its strong weekend performance.

Directed by Koratala Siva, the action-packed epic had already grossed Rs 304 crore worldwide during its opening weekend, as announced by the makers.

A post on the film’s official social media handle on X (formerly Twitter) read, “A hurricane named ‘#Devara’ has swept across every corner with his ‘X’ style of destruction. #BlockbusterDevara.”

The Monday drop came after Devara shattered national records, garnering a massive global response. It was lauded as the biggest opener in Indian cinema history and even secured the position of the second-largest global opener, surpassing the hit film Transformers.

During its first three days, Devara earned Rs 172 crore on its opening day alone and grossed Rs 275 crore worldwide over the weekend, according to Comscore data cited by Hindustan Times. This monumental achievement places it just behind The Wild Robot, which raked in Rs 44 million globally during its opening weekend.
