Coldplay Concert security: 1,000 cops assigned to Navi Mumbai show

Around 1,000 police officers will be stationed to ensure security and maintain order during Coldplay's highly anticipated concert in Navi Mumbai, authorities confirmed on Friday.

The large-scale deployment highlights the significant efforts being made to manage the crowds and provide a safe environment for concertgoers, ensuring that the event runs smoothly without any disruptions.

The British rock band Coldplay is set to perform three concerts at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on January 18, 19, and 21, as part of their 'Music of the Spheres World Tour.'

Around 45,000 fans are anticipated to attend Coldplay's upcoming concerts in Navi Mumbai, with extensive security measures in place to ensure safety. According to a statement from the Navi Mumbai police, the arrangements are designed to handle large crowds and ensure a smooth and secure event experience for all attendees.

The release revealed that 70 officers and 434 policemen will be stationed inside the stadium for crowd control and security during the event. Additionally, 21 officers and 440 policemen will be positioned outside the venue every day to manage traffic and maintain public safety.

These measures are part of a comprehensive security plan to ensure the safety of both the attendees and the surrounding areas during Coldplay's performances.

Heavy vehicles from Uran, Nhavasheva, Pune and Thane have been banned in the area during these days. The Thane city police have also issued similar directives, restricting the movement of heavy vehicles within their jurisdiction.

There are designated parking areas during the event, the release added.
