Rakul Preet Singh’s performance as Ayesha in De De Pyaar De 2 has struck a chord with both critics and audiences. The film, which also stars Ajay Devgn and R. Madhavan in lead roles, has been performing strongly at the box office since its release on November 14.
In a recent interview, Rakul opened up about the difficult circumstances under which she shot a major portion of the film after sustaining a serious back injury.
During one of the recent interviews, Rakul shared the real struggle behind filming one of the movie’s most admired moments—the highway sequence.
She said, “I had a back injury during the shoot of De De Pyaar De 2. A spine injury. I had finished 50 percent of the film when I got that injury and I was bedridden for 40 days. I was like a vegetable, I didn’t know when I was going to walk again or stand again. We had to take a three-month break and then I resumed, but when I resumed I couldn’t even sit on a chair like this. I shot half the film on a physio bed, which you can’t tell.”
Shedding light on the popular highway scene she added, “The highway scene you’re talking about, my bed was literally on the highway. I would be lying down, the shot would get ready, I would get up, give the shot, and then go back to lie down.”
