Ali Fazal meets kids and women displaced from Gaza in Egypt

Ali Fazal has taken on a role that combines compassion and global responsibility.

In keeping with both his public persona and his increasing dedication to humanitarian work, the actor has formally joined Goodwill Caravan as its International Goodwill Ambassador.

The organisation, which supports refugees and people forced to flee conflict and persecution across Northern Africa, the Middle East and Europe, now has a prominent Indian voice helping carry its message across borders.

Goodwill Caravan is known for being present where the need is most urgent. From offering legal aid and emergency shelter to providing food, healthcare, and safe spaces for children, the NGO focuses on helping displaced families rebuild their lives with dignity.

Their work centres on ensuring that those escaping war can safely integrate into the first secure country they reach—reducing their vulnerability to trafficking and exploitation.

Ali travelled to Egypt to spend time with women and children who had escaped the violence in Gaza, as well as Syrian refugees seeking safety.

Speaking about the experience, he shared, “Goodwill Caravan’s work has deeply resonated with me. Its always the common people who lose livelihood due to the wars fought… Everyone deserves dignity and being a human, a husband, a son, a father all deeply have made me more aware of the need for empathy and emotion in a world that is alienating us from these very instincts.”

He later opened up even more on social media, calling it one of the most difficult yet meaningful interactions he has filmed. “I think this was the hardest sit down camera interaction i have ever had to do… Here, i got a chance to interact and spend time with the few women and children who managed to get out of the massacres in Gaza.”

Now, as the international face of Goodwill Caravan, Ali Fazal will help amplify the organisation’s mission, raise awareness about human trafficking, and bring global attention to the realities faced by the displaced.
