In a move that stunned fans worldwide, BLACKPINK’s Rosé made a surprise appearance during Coldplay’s concert in Seoul, joining frontman Chris Martin onstage for a special performance of her chart-topping single APT. The unannounced collaboration took place on April 22 at Goyang Stadium as part of Coldplay’s ongoing The Sphere World Tour.
While Rosé didn’t participate in the 2025 Coachella Festival alongside her BLACKPINK bandmates Jennie and Lisa, who both had solo performances, she certainly made up for it with this unexpected crossover moment. Her appearance in California to support her fellow members gave no hint of what was to come, making her sudden return to Korea and stage time with Coldplay all the more thrilling.

The performance began with Chris Martin humorously attempting to sing the chorus of APT. while playing the piano. After a few playful bars, he asked the audience, “Wait, is that how it goes?”, prompting the surprise entry of Rosé. The crowd erupted as she began singing the song’s original melody, with Coldplay’s live band joining in. Martin filled in for Bruno Mars, the song’s featured artist, singing his verses while sharing lively chemistry with Rosé onstage.
The duet didn’t end there. Feeding off the electric energy, Chris requested an encore of the track, to which Rosé obliged, giving fans another snippet of the soulful hit. The performance rapped up and Chris and Rosé hugged each other.
