Unfortunately, not all of the headlines surrounding the eagerly awaited Kantara sequel have been positive.

The ongoing filming of Kantara 2 has been plagued by a number of accidents, the most recent of which was a serious boat accident that occurred during production.

A boat carrying 30 people, including director and lead actor Rishab Shetty, capsized mid-shoot while the team was filming a pivotal scene at the Mani reservoir in the Masti Katte area of Karnataka's Shivamogga district, according to reports. The whole group was thrown into the water in an unexpected turn of events.

Fortunately, there have been no reports of fatalities or severe injuries. As a precaution, every person on board received medical examinations and was quickly rescued. Even though a tragic outcome was possible, everyone's safety was guaranteed by the quick emergency response.

The production has faced difficulties before. A string of regrettable incidents has cast a shadow over the Kantara 2 filming.

A bus carrying thirty crew members was involved in an accident a few days before the boat incident. Two artists also passed away on the team, including a mimicry artist who died on set from a heart attack.

The Kantara 2 crew has persevered and remained resolute in their filming despite these obstacles. However, considering the number of accidents, both industry insiders and fans are calling on the production unit to strengthen safety procedures.

It is anticipated that Kantara 2 will explore the spiritual and cultural aspects that contributed to the original movie's widespread popularity in India. Many people are hoping that the remainder of the production goes smoothly as excitement for the sequel grows. Take a look at all that happened.1. Bus Accident (November 2024): Near Kollur, a bus carrying about 20 artists capsized. Production company Hombale Films clarified that the injuries were either nonexistent or very minor, despite early reports indicating potential injuries. Soon after, filming started up again.

2. Drowning Incident (May 2025): During a filming break, artist M.F. Kapil, 24, tragically drowned in the Souparnika River.

3. June 2025 Boat Capsizing: Rishab Shetty and roughly thirty crew members were on a boat when it capsized. Thankfully, everyone on board was safely rescued, and shooting quickly resumed.

4. Off-Set Deaths: Artists Rakesh Pujare (cardiac arrest, May 2025) and Kalabhavan Niju (heart attack, June 2025) died of illnesses unrelated to the movie set.

5. Additional Difficulties: In addition, the production has experienced negative weather, environmental criticism, and fines for violating forest dumping laws.
