Avinash Tiwary, known for his intense roles in Laila Majnu, Bulbbul, Khakee: The Bihar Chapter, and Bambai Meri Jaan, recently faced body-shaming online. While praising his performance in Bambai Meri Jaan, Pakistani stylist Rao Ali Khan commented on Instagram, "Loved Bombay Meri Jaan. Was thinking why do you have belly fat in Khakhee and Bombay Meri Jaan both. Happy to see fitter body – super super."

In a follow-up comment, Rao Ali advised Avinash to lose weight to maintain a more conventionally fit appearance—remarks that many fans found insensitive and unnecessary, especially coming from a public figure.

Avinash, however, did not let the comment slide. In a graceful yet firm response, he replied, "Sir, you are a journalist… if you had done any research you would know it was for the part... I suggest get beyond the idea of just vanity for cinema. Thank you."

The actor made it clear that the weight gain was a deliberate decision to suit his character. In fact, as early as October 2023, he had addressed the transformation, stating, "I decided to gain weight, grow hair, no vanity, no grooming to ensure that he never appeared desirable."
