Amitabh Bachchan buys land in Ayodhya worth Rs 86 lakh, to build a memorial for father: Report

Before the grand inauguration of the Ram Temple last year, the veteran actor had purchased a 5,372-square-foot plot in Haveli Avadh on January 16 for Rs 4.54 crore.

Legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan has reportedly acquired a significant parcel of land in the sacred city of Ayodhya.

According to The Times of India, the Harivansh Rai Bachchan Trust has purchased a 54,454-square-foot plot, located over 10 km from the Ram Temple. Speculation suggests that the land may be used to establish a memorial dedicated to the life and literary contributions of the iconic Hindi poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan. This marks the second major land transaction involving the Bachchan family in Ayodhya.

Meanwhile, in a separate development, the Maharashtra government is in the final stages of securing a deal with Awas Vikas Parishad to construct a state guest house within the upcoming greenfield township in Ayodhya.

According to sources cited by The Times of India, the plot in Haveli Avadh, located near the Ram Temple, is likely intended for residential use, while the larger land parcel may be dedicated to a social or charitable initiative.

Meanwhile, reports suggest that Amitabh's newly acquired land in Tihura Manjha is situated approximately 7 kilometers from the Ram Mandir. Furthermore, the land registration was officially completed on January 31.

In 2023, Amitabh Bachchan visited Ayodhya and invested in a property developed by Mumbai-based real estate firm The House of Abhinandan Lodha (HoABL). As per industry sources cited by Hindustan Times, the land covers approximately 10,000 square feet and was acquired for Rs 14.5 crore.

On the work front, as per latest reports, Amitabh Bachchan who has competed 25 years of being the host of Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC), is reportedly taking departure from the quiz-based show. The show is currently in its Season 16 and Big B has been hosting it since 2007 when he was 57. The legendary actor is 82 now.
