Alia Bhatt recently shared insights into her personal life during an episode of Jay Shetty’s podcast, discussing everything from her struggles with ADHD and anxiety to the special role her mother-in-law, Neetu Kapoor, played in naming her daughter, Raha.
She also revealed that she and her husband, Ranbir Kapoor, have already chosen names for their future children, including one specifically for a baby boy. "This was when Ranbir and I both, like eager parents, were asking on our family group to give both boys and girls names so we’re prepared, so we can zero down on like a girl name and a boy name. So, there were multiple boy names and multiple girl names and, um, we really liked one boy name," the Jigra actress said.
Alia further continued saying that the couple loved the suggested boy name that she refused to reveal now and further asked for more options for baby girl names in their family group. "My mother-in-law, Ranbir’s mom, suggested, ‘What about Raha? It’ll go very well with the boy name as well if you ever have a boy. If you have a boy and a girl, it’ll be a really good combination.’ Then she suggested a girl and girl combination as well. But Ranbir and I instantly loved Raha. So we had two names, boy and girl, ready," Alia fondly recalled how Neetu Kapoor chose the name Raha for her granddaughter, making it even more special for their family.
When asked about the meaning of her daughter's name, Alia smiled and explained that Raha signifies peace, joy, and bliss, everything that her daughter represents to them.
Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor got married on April 14, 2022 in an intimate wedding ceremony. The couple welcomed daughter Raha on November 6, 2022.
On the professional front, Alia Bhatt will be seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Love and War, co-starring Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal. She also has Alpha in her line-up of future projects. Alpha is a part of YRF's Spy Universe and also stars Sharvari.
