Aamir Khan names Vicky Kaushal as the perfect Bhuvan if Lagaan was remade, latter says: "There can be no other 'Bhuvan' than Aamir sir"

Aamir Khan revealed that if Lagaan were made today, he would cast Vicky Kaushal as Bhuvan. Reacting to this, Vicky shared a clip of Aamir’s statement on his Instagram Stories.

Vicky Kaushal took to his Instagram Stories on Sunday and shared a video clip of Amir Khan's appearance at Komal Nahta’s podcast Game Changers: The Producer Series.

Aamir Khan recently spoke about his 2001 film Lagaan, and when asked about an actor who could play his character Bhuvan again on screen if there was a sequel, Aamir Khan named Vicky Kaushal. Vicky has now reacted to his statement.

Vicky Kaushal took to his Instagram Stories on Sunday and shared a video clip of Amir Khan's appearance at Komal Nahta’s podcast Game Changers: The Producer Series.

Acknowledging Aamir's view about him playing Bhuvan, Vicky wrote, "There can be no other 'Bhuvan' than Aamir Sir...but such an honour to get such kind words from the master himself."

Komal Nahta asked Aamir on his podcast who he thinks would be best suited to play Lagaan's Bhuvan if the film were to be remade today.

Aamir responded, saying, “Vicky Kaushal, I think he has that quality of Bhuvan – dignity, strength, inner strength, steadiness, and integrity. He reflects all of that very naturally. He is a great actor."


Speaking of Lagaan: Once Upon a Time in India, the film was directed by Ashutosh Gowariker and was released in 2001. The movie was also nominated under the Best Foreign Language Film category at the Oscars that year.

Apart from Aamir Khan, the other cast members included Gracy Singh, Suhasini Mulay, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Rajesh Vivek, Raj Zutshi, Akhilendra Mishra, Rajendra Gupta, and Raghubir Yadav.

On the work front, Aamir Khan was last seen in Sitaare Zameen Par alongside Genelia D'Souza. Meanwhile, Vicky Kaushal won everyone's hearts with his last performance as Vhhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj in Chhaava.
