The Amritsar constituency, one of Punjab's 13 Lok Sabha constituencies, is gearing up for the 2024 elections. The Election Commission of India announced the final schedule for voting and results on March 16. The Amritsar Lok Sabha constituency will vote on June 1, 2024, during Phase 7 of the elections, and the results will be announced on June 4, 2024.

The election schedule notification has initiated the filing of nominations by candidates from major parties and independents. Candidate announcements are made both before and during the election phases. The confirmed candidates so far include Taranjit Singh Sandhu from BJP, Gurjeet Singh Aujla from INC, and Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal from AAP.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha election, Gurjeet Singh Aujla of the INC won with 445,032 votes, defeating BJP candidate Hardeep Singh Puri, who received 345,406 votes. The AAP candidate, Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal, garnered 20,087 votes. The voting percentage was 56.34%. In the 2014 Lok Sabha election, Congress leader Amarinder Singh won the Amritsar seat, defeating BJP stalwart Arun Jaitley by over one lakh votes. Amarinder Singh received 482,876 votes, amounting to a 48% vote share, while Jaitley received 380,106 votes, accounting for a 37.74% vote share. Following Amarinder Singh's appointment as Chief Minister, a by-election was held in 2017, where Congress's Gurjeet Singh Aujla defeated BJP's Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina by a margin of 199,189 votes.
