Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address two election meetings in Maharashtra's Marathwada region on April 30, seeking support for BJP’s Latur and Osmanabad candidates.
Authorities have designated Latur as a "no-drone zone" and have imposed other restrictions as well for Modi’s public meeting in Birle Farm.
BJP’s Sudhakar Shrangare is seeking re-election from Latur and is up against Congress' Shivaji Kalge.
District Collector Varsha Thakur-Ghuge issued an order prohibiting the flying of drones until May 1 midnight along with traffic regulations for major roads in the district.
Party’s Latur district in charge Kiran Patil said the PM's rally will begin at 12.30 pm and would be attended by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and his deputies Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar.
Senior leaders of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA), too, will also address the rally. Latur is among the 94 Lok Sabha constituencies that will be voted for in the third phase of voting on May 7.
Modi will also hold an election rally in Osmanabad where sitting MP Omraje Nimbalkar of Shiv Sena (UBT) is pitted against Mahayuti’s Archana Patil.
The BJP, Shinde Sena and Ajit Pawar-led NCP faction comprise Mahayuti.
