The Lok Sabha Elections of 2024 have begun as the first phase of voting commenced on April 19. There are 1,625 candidates running for the 102 seats in this phase, across 21 states and the union territories (UTs). These include 12 applicants from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands (2 women); 14 from Arunachal Pradesh (1 woman); 35 from Assam (4 women); and 38 from Bihar (3 women).
Voter information slips (VIS) have already been dispatched by the Election Commission of India (ECI) to registered voters whose names are on the electoral list.

Before an election, the ECI provides voters with a voter slip, or VIS, which contains the relevant information such as name, age, gender, assembly constituency, and polling place location, including room number, date, and hour. The slip also has a QR code, which makes it easy to confirm the voter's details.
How to download the voter information slip or VIS on your phone?
1. Download the 'Voter Helpline' app from Play Store or Apple App Store
2. Click on 'E-EPIC' option
3. Login using your registered phone number, password and OTP (Make a fresh registration if not done)
4. Enter your EPIC number (Refer to Voter ID card)
5. Following this, you will be able to see your Voter Slip details
6. Enter the OTP again to open the VIC document
How to download the VIS using the website?
1. Open “https://voters.eci.gov.in/”
2. Login using phone number, password and OTP (register, if you are new to the website)
3. Click on "Download E-EPIC" option
4. Enter EPIC number (found on your Voter ID card)
5. Once done, E-EPIC along with VIS will be downloaded
