On ED arresting Jharkhand Minister and Congress leader Alamgir Alam, Congress leader Rakesh Sinha said, " He was arrested without any evidence because he is a Congress Minister, had he been like Ajit Pawar or Narayan Rane, he would not have been arrested...only those people are being arrested who dare to ask questions regarding inflation, unemployment, declining economy...ED is the medium to silence such people, through ED, PM and Amit Shah arrest such people and silence their voices...arrest of Hemant Soren and Alamgir Alam will be BJP's last nail in the coffin in Jharkhand...minister (Alamgir Alam) has nothing to do with this...PM Modi is anxious about losing."

The petition of comedian Shyam Rangeela to contest for the Lok Sabha from the UP constituency of Varanasi has been denied. 36 affidavit forms in total have been rejected, according to the ECI website.

Fifteen affidavits, including those of Congress candidate Ajay Rai and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, have been approved.

Jharkhand Chief Electoral Officer K Ravi Kumar said, “During scrutiny, two nomination forms from Rajmahal, three from Dumka, eight from Godda Lok Sabha constituencies have been rejected. The last date for withdrawal of nomination is May 17, after which the final list of candidates will be announced. Since the implementation of MCC, we have seized close to rupees 116.90 crore till date."

UP Congress chief and candidate from Varanasi constituency, Ajay Rai said, “I have fought against PM Modi twice in 2014 and 2019. There’s no wave of him in the constituency; he has done nothing. If he had worked for the people, he wouldn’t have organised a roadshow to show off. The crowd in his roadshow are all staged. Members of the INDIA alliance are working on the ground and we will win with a thumping majority."

During a roadshow in Chandni Chowk LS constituency, AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal gave the slogan 'Jo kare Kejriwal ko pyaar woh kare Modi ko inkaar'. He also said, "If people vote for BJP, I will have to go to jail."

A farmers' leader from Tamil Nadu who intended to contest against Prime Minister Modi from Varanasi was denied a hearing by the Supreme Court.

A top source stated that more than thirty Assam Police officers were hurt after their bus struck a truck head-on in the Muzaffarpur district of Bihar when they were on election duty today.

According to Senior Superintendent of Police Rakesh Kumar, the collision happened on a national highway near the Sakra police station. The bus carried thirty-six Assam Police officers who were on deputation in Samastipur, the location of Monday's polls. According to the SSP, they were in route to Saran, where voting is set for the next week.

The nomination form of 'Waris Punjab De' Chief Amritpal Singh contesting from the Khadoor Sahib Lok Sabha constituency in the upcoming election has been approved. He is being held at the Dibrugarh jail in Assam right now. Punjab will hold elections on June 1.

According to sources, the EC summoned the chief secretary and DGP of Andhra Pradesh to "personally explain" why they were unable to stop the violence that followed the election.

- Pratima Devi, the mother of Bhojpuri superstar Pawan Singh, filed nomination for the Karakat Lok Sabha seat, which her son is contesting as an Independent.

- Neither Singh nor his mother made any statement about the move. Speculations are rife that Pratima Devi, who filed the nomination on Tuesday as an Independent, entered the fray as her son, a BJP member, might face disciplinary action by the party if he does not withdraw from the contest.

- Former Union minister Upendra Kushwaha, who heads the Rashtriya Lok Morcha, is the NDA candidate in Karakat.

"If the Prime Minister visits across India for several days then who will fulfil his duties and responsibilities. Modi ji fears losing the elections that is why he is campaigning everywhere," says Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut during a press conference in Mumbai.

- AAP candidate and Punjabi actor Karamjit Singh Anmol and BJP nominee Subhash Sharma filed their nomination papers on Tuesday for their respective Lok Sabha seats in Punjab.

- A total of 226 nominations were filed on the last day of filing papers for the parliamentary polls in Punjab, where voting is to be held in the last phase of the seven-phase election on June 1. A total of 598 nominations have been filed since May 7.

Union Minister Giriraj Singh says, "...Mamata Banerjee wants Bengal to be a Muslim state. In the last election, her minister used to show journalists, a 'mini-Pakistan', which means she wants to make Wesh Bengal, the 'Pakistan of India'. When our govt is formed, NRC, CAA, UCC and population control will be implemented and her dictatorship like 'Kim Jong' will be ended..."

The Union Minister further says, "Rahul Gandhi & Lalu Yadav who project themselves as well-wishers of backwards, in Karnataka they have ended the reservations of backwards by giving Muslims the status of OBC. In future, they want to create an Islamic state in the country..."

- Traffic police has made elaborate arrangements for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 2.5 km campaign roadshow in Ghatkopar in eastern Mumbai on Wednesday, an official said.

- The LBS road will remain closed for vehicles from Gandhi Nagar junction to Naupada junction, and the Mahul-Ghatkopar road will remain closed from Meghraj junction to RB Kadam junction from 2 pm to 10 pm, he said.

- The vehicular traffic will be diverted to the Eastern Express Highway, Western Express Highway, Andheri-Kurla Road, Saki Vihar Road, MIDC Central road, Santacruz Chembur Link Road (SCLR), Sion Bandra Link Road and Jogeshwari Vikhroli Link road (JVLR), the official added.
