Addressing a rally in Anantnag, Jammu and Kashmir, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge came down heavily on the Bharatiya Janata Party for ‘stalling’ developmental works in the Union Territory.
Speaking on Congress-NC alliance for the upcoming Assembly polls, he said the BJP is rattled to see how the alliance is working to addresses the issues of the common man. The repeated changes in BJP list for the polls is a prime example of the conundrum that is facing the saffron party.
Slamming the saffron party, Kharge said: "Deception is the only policy of the BJP for the youth of Jammu and Kashmir and that they will show the door to BJP in the upcoming polls "Many exam paper leaks, bribes and rampant corruption have delayed hiring across departments for four years now."
Promising development if the alliance (NC-Congress) was voted to power, he said: "A market was going to be built in this area 10 years ago, which was also inaugurated. But, it remained the same under Modi government. No one is going to see this. These people only give speeches and do not do any work.."
Congress and the National Conference forged a pre-poll alliance for the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir Polls. Jammu and Kashmir's 90-seat Assembly will see voting in three phases- September 18, September 25 and November 5. The poll outcome will be declared on November 8.
Congress-NC will not be the first stint as partners as the two parties are also part of mega bloc, INDIA, that was formed to oust ruling BJP from Centre during General Elections. During the Lok Sabha polls, National Conference won two seats - Anantnag and Srinagar. The Congress could not win any seat.
The Bharatiya Janata party has been relentless in its attack on the Congress over its alliance with the National Conference (NC) in poll-bound Jammu and Kashmir, cornering the grand old party on the NC’s manifesto promises over issues such as reservations and reinstatement of Articles 370 and 35 A.
