In yet another surprising case from Bihar, someone in Samastipur district submitted an online application for a residence certificate in the name of US President Donald Trump. The request was made on July 29, 2025, through the government portal from Mohiuddinnagar block, using a photo of Trump and listing a local address in Hasanpur village, Ward No 13, under the Mohiuddinnagar police station area, news agency IANS reported.

The application was recorded under application number BRCCO/2025/17989735, but officials soon discovered that the photo, Aadhaar number, barcode, and address provided were all fake. The Circle Officer (CO) immediately rejected the request and called it a serious attempt to mock the administration.

The CO said that a case has been registered under the IT Act, and the cybercrime police are now investigating. “We are tracing the IP address and login details of the person who submitted the form. Strict action will be taken,” the officer was quoted by IANS as saying.

In last few days, a growing number of bizarre and fake residence certificate cases have emerged from Bihar.

In a recent incident in Khagaria district, officials found online applications in the names of Lord Ram, Goddess Sita, and even a crow. These forms included mythical or animal photos, with clearly made-up names and addresses. The Lord Ram application listed Raja Dashrath and Kaushalya as parents, village Ayodhya, and mobile number 9999999999. However, instead of Uttar Pradesh, the application mentioned Khagaria in Bihar.

A similar form for Goddess Sita listed her father as Raja Janak, and mother as Sunaina, with the same Ayodhya address and fake phone number.

An application was filed in the name of a crow (‘Kauwwa’). It mentioned Kawwa Singh as the father and Maina Singh as the mother, with an actual crow’s picture attached. That case, submitted in December last year, also led to a police complaint.

One of the earlier cases involved a residence certificate issued under the name ‘Dog Babu’, using a smiling picture of a Golden Retriever. While the certificate was quickly cancelled, investigations revealed that someone had used the real documents of a woman from Delhi, including her Aadhaar card, without her consent.
