Mahindra & Mahindra has launched the XUV 7XO in India, expanding its premium SUV portfolio. Prices for the new XUV 7XO start at Rs 13.66 lakh (ex-showroom), with introductory pricing applicable for the first 40,000 customer deliveries. Bookings open on January 14, with deliveries scheduled to begin the same day for select variants.
Positioned as a successor to the XUV700, the new Mahindra XUV 7XO introduces multiple segment-first and industry-first technologies in the internal combustion engine (ICE) SUV space, including software-defined vehicle architecture and advanced suspension technology.
Mahindra has positioned the XUV 7XO as India's first ICE software-defined vehicle. The SUV features coast-to-coast 12.3-inch triple HD screens across all variants, making it the first ICE SUV in the country to offer this layout as standard. The infotainment and vehicle systems are powered by ADRENOX+, running on the Qualcomm Snapdragon SA8155P chipset, which Mahindra says enables faster processing and improved responsiveness.
The cabin also debuts India's first integrated Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos experience in an ICE vehicle, paired with a 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio system. Additional technology highlights include Alexa built-in with ChatGPT integration, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 540-degree surround camera with digital video recording, and approach unlock with walk-away lock.
A key mechanical highlight of the XUV 7XO is the global debut of Mahindra's DAVINCI suspension system. This valve-based damping technology is designed to deliver a more settled and plush ride. The SUV uses a front McPherson strut setup and a multi-link independent rear suspension with frequency selective damping and a stabiliser bar.
Powertrain options include a 2.0-litre mStallion TGDi petrol engine (197hp and 380Nm) and a 2.2-litre mHawk turbo-diesel engine (182hp and 420/450Nm). Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic. Mahindra is also offering an all-wheel-drive option on diesel variants, like before.
The XUV 7XO is offered in AX, AX3, AX5, AX7, AX7T and AX7L trims, with both 6-seat and 7-seat configurations depending on the variant. Petrol prices start at Rs 13.66 lakh, while diesel variants start at Rs 14.96 lakh (ex-showroom). Automatic transmission variants are priced at an additional Rs 1.45 lakh, while all-wheel-drive versions command a Rs 2.45 lakh premium.
Deliveries for AX7, AX7T and AX7L variants will commence from January 14, starting with pre-booked customers. Lower variants, including AX, AX3 and AX5, will be delivered from April onwards.
Mahindra has equipped the XUV 7XO with over 120 safety features, including 75 standard safety features across variants. The SUV offers Level 2 ADAS with 17 functions and first-in-segment ADAS dynamic visualisation. Other safety features include up to seven airbags, electronic stability programme, hill descent control, driver drowsiness alert, electronic parking brake with auto hold and tyre pressure monitoring.
Inside, the XUV 7XO focusses on comfort and flexibility, with features such as powered front seats with memory, ventilated front and rear seats, retractable rear sunshades, dual-zone climate control with quiet mode, acoustic solar windscreen and high-density seat foam. Exterior design highlights include an all-new grille with piano black finish, bi-LED projector headlamps, diamond-cut 19-inch alloy wheels and LED taillamps.
Mahindra first launched the XUV700 in India in August 2021. Since then, this flagship ICE SUV of the company has garnered sales of over 3 lakh units. It is the fastest SUV over 4 metres in India to surpass revenue figures of Rs 50,000 crore.
