Gixxer SF 250: What to expect from Suzuki's next launch?

Some days back, Suzuki teased us with a silhouetted picture of its upcoming launch along with a date. Now, new details have emerged that have cleared more clouds about the launch.

The new motorcycle will be sold under the Gixxer SF 250 moniker and will be the company’s fully faired offering in the quarter-litre segment. Though there is no official information which has been shared, a leaked photo of the bike’s brochure has appeared online that you can see here.

The motorcycle will be powered by a 249CC single cylinder engine which makes 26.5PS of maximum power and 22.6Nm of peak torque. The engine has been designed from scratch and is mated to a six-speed gearbox. This engine could make the Gixxer SF 250 to be the first BSVI compliant motorcycle.

The bike’s photo which was leaked shows the side profile of the bike, which indicates that the bike sports a large fairing, with a bronze-finished engine case. The LED headlight seems to take inspiration from its bigger sibling, the GSX-R1000. The fuel tank is moulded after Gixxer SF, along with a stubby exhaust muffler.

It also gets split seats and multi-spoke alloy wheels, which have a diamond-cut finish. Though the instrument cluster has not been revealed, it is expected that the bike will carry an all-digital instrument cluster.

The bike is expected to be pitted against Honda CBR250R and Yamaha FZ-25, among others. While the exact price is unknown, it could be placed in Rs 1.65-1.75 lakh bracket (ex-showroom).
