Samsung is reportedly working on a successor to its popular mid-range handset, the Galaxy A56, which is expected to launch early next year. While the company has yet to reveal any plans to launch a Galaxy A series smartphone, a model number linked to the purported Galaxy A57 has been spotted on a Samsung server, hinting at an imminent launch.
Samsung Galaxy A57 listed on company’s test server: Key details
According to a recent post on the social media platform X by user Akhilesh Kumar (@Koram_Akhilesh), a new model in Samsung’s A-series has appeared on a Samsung internal test server, with the model number A576B. Here, the ‘A' likely confirms that this model number is associated with a device in the Galaxy A series lineup, with the ‘B’ suffix designating an international iteration.
Moreover, previously, the purported Galaxy A57 was spotted in the IMEI database with the codename SM-A576B/DS, where “DS” signifies a dual-SIM configuration. This means that, like its predecessors, the Samsung Galaxy A57 could support dual-SIM functionality. The handset is also expected to be powered by the Exynos 1680 chipset.
Apart from this, previous leaks and reports suggest that the Galaxy A57 will bring several upgrades over its predecessor. To recall, the Samsung Galaxy A56 includes a triple rear camera setup, led by a 50MP primary sensor. Further, it’s powered by the Exynos 1580 SoC. For selfies and video calls, the phone offers a 12MP front camera. It also packs a 5,000mAh battery with 45W fast charging and has an IP67 rating for improved water and dust resistance.
