Kejriwal heads to Khurshid's bastion for protest today

With slogans like 'who owns Farrukhabad', activist turned politician Arvind Kejriwal's IAC is taking on Khurshid in his own bastion on charges of corruption. This comes despite a veiled warning from Salman Khurshid against any such move."We're being threatened against putting posters, told not to enter certain localities. Today they released a pirated CD against one of our members," an IAC member claimed. Another IAC activist Omendra Bharat added, "They've been trying to ensure that our show flops but we've been getting a tremendous response from the public. These guys are ready to stoop to any level to put us down."Undeterred by alleged threats of violence, IAC activists could be seen distributing caps and holding public demonstrations urging people to participate in Thursday's rally. Congress's district unit, unwilling to give the opposition a walkover, has raised a war cry against Kejriwal and friends.Farrukhabad District Congress President Aftab Hussain said, "We've planned blockades along the route that Kejriwal is going to take. We'll be waving black flags and we're going to try our best to ensure that he's not able to reach the protest site."The sleepy town of Farrukhabad is getting ready for a pitched political battle between Arvind Kejriwal and Khurshid loyalists. With Salman Khurshid being elevated to the top four in the government, Kejriwal isn't eyeing a short term goal, but is looking at making a dent in the cabinet minister's vote bank for 2014.
