Shares of Escorts gained more than 6 percent intraday Tuesday after ace investor Rakesh Jhunjhunwala raised his stake in the company by 2.67 percent in the quarter ended March 2015.
According to the new shareholding pattern, Jhunjhunwala's equity stake in the company stood at 8.14 percent as on March 31, 2015 against 5.47 percent at the end of December 2015. It meant currently he has 99.75 lakh shares of the company.
Meanwhile, Goldman Sachs India Fund bought 26.43 lakh shares (2.16 percent) of the tractor maker during the quarter while DSP BlackRock Small & Midcap Fund and Government Pension Fund Global reduced their shareholding to 1.42 percent (1.53 percent as of December) and 1.32 percent (1.48 percent), respectively at the end of March quarter.
At 12:53 hours IST, the scrip of Escorts was quoting at Rs 132, up Rs 6.20, or 4.93 percent on the BSE.
