Toyota Kirloskar Motor is set to resume normal operations at its plants from May 20, much earlier than expected, as components supplies are improving.

The Indian unit of Japanese automaker Toyota had earlier said it would suspend production on Mondays and Fridays from April 25 to June 4 due to parts supply constraints following the earthquake and Tsunami that hit Japan in March.

The company, which has two factories in Karnataka, had said it would only operate at 30% of the normal capacity during the suspension period.
