A month-and-a-half after she was questioned by the Central Bureau of Investigation, Tamil Nadu chief minister M Karunanidhi's daughter and DMK MP Kanimozhi has been named as a co-conspirator with A Raja in the 2G scam. Kalaignar TV has been suspected and alleged to have played a key role in facilitating illegal transaction of Rs 200 crore.

However, Karunanidhi's wife and a 60% stake holder in Kalaignar Dayalu Ammal seems to have escaped CBI's clutches.

The CBI on Monday named Sharad Kumar, the CEO of Kalaignar TV, Asif Balwa, the brother of Swan Telecom promoter Shahid Balwa, Karim Morani founder of Cineyug and Rajiv Agarwal of Kusegaon Realty in its 50-page supplementary chargesheet at 2G trial court.

Sections 7, 11, 12 and 120 have been invoked against the five new accused. The chargesheet adds charges under Section 7 and 11 of the Prevention of Corruption Act versus A Raja and Kanimozhi for receiving bribes and Vinod Goenka and Shahid Balwa under Section 12 for paying bribes.

The bureau has alleged that Dynamix took Rs 140 crore and DB Realty Rs 102 crore loans from IL&FS. It also states that Rs 200 crore has been paid as bribe to Kalaigar TV, which was transferred during eight months (December 23, 2008 to August, 2009) in 20 tranches.
