In the interim budget on Monday, Finance Minister P Chidambaram on Monday cut excise duty across various types of two and four wheelers that ranged from 3 to 6 percent.

Battling the worst slowdown in a decade, the auto industry welcomed the move and many companies have chosen to pass on the duty cuts to consumers.

Key automakers such as Maruti Suzuki, Mahindra & Mahindra, Tata Motors, Honda, General Motors and Volkswagen have all pledged to bring down prices but have not yet quantified the exact reduction.

Here is a list of the announcements that have come from various auto companies and a look at how cheap their bikes and cars are expected to get, as a result of the excise duty.
