115th China Import and Export Fair

Canton Fair is China’s largest biannual trade fair with an illustrious history. Now in its 115th edition, the event is also called China Import and Export Fair and is one of the most effective ways to develop business relationships in China.

This fair is co-hosted by the Ministry of Commerce of People’s Republic of China and the People’s Government of Guangdong Province and organized by China Foreign Trade Centre. It is held two times every year in Guangzhou.

This year the event is being held over three phases: Phase 1 - 15th April to 19th April, 2014, Phase 2 - 23rd April to 27th April, 2014 and Phase 3 - 1st May to 5th May, 2014. Before the main event in Guangzhou, there will be a roadshow in Delhi’s The Lalit hotel on 17th January, 2014 from 11:00 am to 12:30pm.

Since its inception in 1957, Canton Fair has been witnessing an increase in the variety of products on display with each passing year, along with impressive turnovers and huge buyer attendance. To give you an idea: the 114th Canton Fair, that concluded on Nov 4, 2013, attracted 1,89,646 buyers from 212 countries and regions.

Given its scale and history, Canton Fair plays a key role in enhancing China’s trade relations with the rest of the world. With over 1,50,000 categories of products from China and other countries and about 24,000 enterprises participating in this fair, it is a must-see for those wanting to do business in China.

Year after year, Canton Fair keeps getting bigger and better. In its 109th edition, Canton Fair Product Design and Trade Promotion Center was set up as a platform for international design institutes and Chinese manufacturers. This center organizes various events and shows for different categories of products and during different phases of the fair.

This fair is the premium platform for economic and trade activities between China and the rest of the world. Given that the global economic situation is complicated and volatile, the 115th Canton Fair will no doubt be the cynosure of all eyes.

In keeping with changing times, the fair has a system to address the issue of Intellectual Property Rights and also has an e-commerce platform in place. The e-commerce platform houses buyer information, global promotion channels, one-stop trade services and credit and compensation system. It offers online and offline interconnectivity.
