Asian markets trade flat; Nikkei down marginally

Asian markets were trading mostly flat on Wednesday. Composite was down 0.20 percent and Nikkei was down 0.18 percent.

Asian stocks kicked off Wednesday in range-bound trade as investors awaited further direction from global central banks.


China's Shanghai Composite was down 0.20 percent or 4.31 points at 2,152.93.


Hong Kong's Hang Seng was flat at 23,027.84.


Japan's Nikkei was down 0.18 percent or 25.42 points at 14,199.95.


Singapore's Straits Times was flat at 3,205.17, South Korea's Seoul Composite was flat at 2,014.63 and Taiwan's Taiwan Weighted was flat at 8,264.30.
