Woman alleges 56 Indians 'forced to sit on footpath like cattle'

A woman has alleged that 56 Indian nationals were subjected to “inhuman behaviour” by Georgian authorities while attempting to cross into the country from Armenia’s Sadakhlo border, despite holding valid e-visas and documents.

In an Instagram post, Dhruvee Patel urged Indian authorities to intervene, describing the ordeal as “shameful & unacceptable.” She claimed the group was “made to wait 5+ hrs in the freezing cold – no food, no toilet,” while their passports were “confiscated for 2+ hrs with no communication.”

According to her, officials forced the travellers to sit on the footpath “like cattle,” filmed them “like criminals,” and prevented them from recording the incident themselves. She further alleged that border guards did not check the documents properly, dismissing their visas as “wrong.”

“Forced to sit on the footpath like cattle. Took videos of us like criminals, but stopped us from filming. Didn’t even check our documents, simply claimed visas were ‘wrong’," she added.
