Aparna Yadav, who is married to Mulayam Singh Yadav's younger son Prateek Yadav, had joined the BJP on January 19, ahead of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.

In the purported phone conversation involving Shanti Bhushan, Mulayam Singh Yadav and Amar Singh, who passed away last year, Bhushan allegedly referred to his lawyer-son Prashant Bhushan who can “manage… very well” and to a then Supreme Court judge.

Yadav, who is contesting Lok Sabha polls from Mainpuri seat in Uttar Pradesh, in its reply has alleged that the petition, filed on the poll eve, was politically motivated.

Uttar Pradesh Parliamentary Affairs minister Suresh Khanna claimed that Mulayam Singh Yadav's statement was reflective of the country's sentiments.
