YouTube, the world’s most popular video streaming platform, suffered a widespread outage that affected thousands of users across the globe. According to Downdetector, a platform that tracks service disruptions, users from the US, UK, and India faced significant issues accessing YouTube on both the website and mobile app.

The issues were experienced on both the YouTube app and website. Downdetector registered over 5,000 complaints in the US alone, while more than 1,800 and 360 reports were logged in the UK and India, respectively.

Global impactDowndetector’s outage map highlighted that the service disruption affected users throughout major regions in the US, UK, and India. The issue appeared to be consistent across mobile and desktop platforms, indicating a broader server-side problem rather than device-specific faults.

However, services appear to be working fine for most users now as access has been restored in several regions. Users are advised to refresh the app or site and check again.
