Xiaomi is gearing up to launch its latest tablet in India, the Pad 7, as the successor to the Pad 6. According to an Amazon listing, the tablet is set to hit Indian stores on January 10, 2025. Interestingly, the Indian variant is expected to retain the same features as its Chinese counterpart, promising several noteworthy improvements over its predecessor.
Xiaomi Pad 7: Expected specifications and features
The Xiaomi Pad 7 has already been launched in China, and since the Indian variant is expected to share the same specifications, we have a clear idea of what buyers can look forward to. Notably, Xiaomi has introduced a new keyboard with a built-in touchpad—a feature absent in its previous tablets. This addition is a game-changer for users looking to enhance productivity and use their tablet for work. Another highlight is the improved Xiaomi Pen, which is fully compatible with the device.
The device features a vibrant 11.2-inch IPS LCD display with 68 billion colors, a 144Hz refresh rate, HDR10, and Dolby Vision for an immersive viewing experience. With a resolution of 2136 x 3200 pixels (~344 ppi) and a brightness of up to 800 nits, it offers sharp and clear visuals.
Powered by Android 15 with HyperOS 2, it runs on the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 chipset built on a 4nm process.
Storage options include 128GB/8GB RAM (UFS 3.1) or 256GB with 8GB or 12GB RAM (UFS 4.0), although it lacks a card slot for expandable storage. The 13 MP main camera with PDAF and LED flash supports 4K video recording, while the 8 MP front camera captures selfies and records 1080p videos. Audio is delivered through stereo speakers, with support for Hi-Res and Hi-Res wireless audio, though there’s no 3.5mm headphone jack.
Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6e, Bluetooth 5.4, and an infrared port, alongside a USB Type-C 3.2 port for charging and accessories. The 8850 mAh battery supports 45W wired charging.
