The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is expected to launch in the coming weeks and will be the top-of-the-line model in the latest Xiaomi 17 series. The company has not yet revealed any details about the launch of the smartphone. However, a recent leak had suggested its camera details, including its expected dynamic range and sensor size. A new report now reveals that the Xiaomi 17 Ultra might have a different camera deco than its predecessor, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, which could be headlined by a 200MP telephoto lens.
Xiaomi 17 Ultra: Expected camera specsAccording to a XiaomiTime report, leaked images of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra photography kit suggest that Xiaomi may skip the purported fourth sensor from the device and launch the handset with a triple rear camera setup, marking a big shift from the quad-camera unit on the Xiaomi 15 Ultra.
Reportedly, Xiaomi has made this decision to focus more on the imagery of the phone, as the brand is leaning toward refining specific focal lengths and sensor performance rather than simply adding more lenses. The leaked images also suggest that Xiaomi will retain the Leica branding on the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, and the device is codenamed “Nezha” during its development process.
A recent leak from the Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station also suggested that the Xiaomi 17 Ultra will get a quad-camera system, featuring three 50MP lenses and a 200MP telephoto shooter. However, this report certainly dismisses these claims. Moreover, the handset could be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, like other Xiaomi 17 models, and boot HyperOS 3, which will handle the software side of things.
