The Elder Scrolls VI is the highly-anticipated Bethesda title fans have kept waiting for far too long without any news. The fantasy role-playing game has been years in the making, with nothing being disclosed by Bethesda in over 7 years. We just know that it was announced during E3 2018. That was the case until it was recently announced that people have a chance to introduce the self-created NPC (non-player or non-playable character) of their choice in the upcoming sixth entry in The Elder Scrolls franchise.
Getting the chance to be featured in The Elder Scrolls 6 as an NPC is not through a contest, but a charitable auction Bethesda is part of. The auction will raise money for Make-A-Wish Foundation, a US-based non-profit organisation that helps grant the wishes of children with critical illnesses. Whoever wins the bid will work directly with Bethesda Game Studios to create their non-playable character that will appear in the game.
“We're offering one lucky winner the chance to create an NPC for The Elder Scrolls VI to benefit Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic. Winning bid will go directly to Make-A-Wish so they can keep granting wishes.”, Bethesda Game Studios announced in a post on Bluesky.
"Calling all gamers and fantasy fans! This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity allows you to immortalize yourself in one of the most highly anticipated video games of all time, The Elder Scrolls VI. With this exclusive experience, you'll work with the developers to create a custom character that will appear in the game, leaving your mark on the legendary franchise.", says Bethesda on the auction page.
The bid has already gone past $10,000, so know that getting immortalised in the Elder Scrolls 6 won’t come cheap, but hey, the money will go to a charitable cause, and you can have both the bragging rights of being a part of The Elder Scrolls 6 and the satisfaction of having made the wish of a seriously ill kid come true.
