Galaxy AI

Samsung launched Galaxy AI with Galaxy S24 series smartphones, earlier this year. The features were free at the launch. However, there was a fineprint that highlighted that these AI features may get paid by 2025. Samsung has once again reminded users that the free Galaxy AI features may get paid by the end of next year, or at least some of them, if not all.

Samsung recently announced Galaxy S10+ and Galaxy S10 Ultra tablets and the footprint – just like the Galaxy S24 series – mentions “Fees may apply to certain AI features at the end of 2025.”

Samsung Galaxy AI features to get paid next year
While Samsung keeps reminding that Galaxy AI features may get paid by 2025, it hasn't actually provided details on any exact timeline. Neither has Samsung mentioned which features may fall in the paid bracket. It’s unclear whether all the Galaxy AI features will become paid or some of them. Or will Samsung offer a subscription model or go with a one-time payment.

Also, we don’t yet know if existing features will become paid or Samsung is talking about future AI features.

Samsung Health AI features subscription
At the Galaxy Unpacked 2024 where Samsung announced the Galaxy Ring, company’s head of Samsung Health, Hon Pak, highlighted that they are already considering a subscription model for the Health app. However, it will continue to offer basic AI features and other Health services at no additional cost.
