The Redmi A4 5G has launched in India today. It is the successor to the Redmi A3 and also supports 5G connectivity support, unlike the previous models in the budget A series. The phone also marks the global debut of the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 chipset in India. Further, it is available in 4GB RAM with up to 128GB storage.

Redmi A4 5G: Price, availability

The Redmi A4 5G has a starting price of Rs 8,499 for the base 4GB RAM + 64GB storage model. It is also available in another variant with a 4GB + 128GB option, and this costs Rs 9,499. The handset will be available in Sparkle Purple and Starry Black colour options and will have its first sale on November 27th at 12 PM IST via Amazon and Xiaomi’s website.

Redmi A4 5G: Specifications, features

The Redmi A4 5G comes with a 6.88-inch HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a touch sampling rate of up to 240Hz. Its display also has a TUV low blue light, flicker-free, and Circadian-friendly certifications. The handset is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 chipset with Adreno GPU for graphics.

The Redmi phone will be available in 4GB LPDDR4x RAM and 64GB/128GB UFS 2.2 storage that is further expandable up to 1TB via a dedicated microSD card slot. In terms of optics, the Redmi A4 5G comes with a 50MP primary camera with an LED flash and a secondary camera. There is also a 5MP selfie camera.

The phone comes with a 5160mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. However, the company will be bundling a 33W adapter in the box. The Redmi A4 5G boots Android 14-based HyperOS, and Redmi is promising two years of OS updates and four years of security patches.

Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5, GPS, and a USB Type-C port. There is also a 3.5mm audio jack and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
