Nothing announces 2025 Community Edition Project for Phone (3a), here’s how you can participate

Following on its Community Edition smartphone, Nothing has announced the the next-edition of the project. The initiative invites participants to contribute design ideas for Phone (3a), covering hardware, accessories, software, and marketing. This year, winners will also receive a cash prize of £1,000 (approximately Rs 1 lakh)

The Community Edition Project began in March 2024 as Nothing’s first co-creation initiative with its community. The 2024 campaign resulted in a limited-edition glow-in-the-dark version of Phone (2a) Plus, with 1,000 units selling out online in 15 minutes. The model also won a Gold iF Design Award.

This year’s campaign allows more time for idea development and encourages collaboration among winners. Entries are open from March 26 to April 23, with four categories for submission:

Hardware design: A refreshed look and feel for Phone (3a).

Accessory design: Exclusive collectables or accessories for the Community Edition.

Software design: UI elements such as wallpapers, widgets, and icon packs.

Marketing campaign: Creative proposals for launch visuals, events, or other marketing elements.

Entrants will have the opportunity to collaborate directly with the Nothing team to refine their designs. The company is encouraging submissions from individuals and teams worldwide.
