The countdown for the iPhone 17 series has begun, and Apple fans know what that means older models are about to get cheaper. With the new iPhones just days away, both Amazon and Flipkart are slashing prices on the iPhone 16 to lure in buyers who don’t want to spend on the latest flagship.
The iPhone 16 series, launched on September 9, 2024, includes five models such as iPhone 16, 16 Plus, 16 Pro, 16 Pro Max, and the recently added iPhone 16e. All of them are powered by Apple’s A18 chipset and come with 8 GB of RAM. The base iPhone 16 (128 GB) originally carried a price tag of Rs 79,900, but thanks to festive-style deals and exchange offers, you could now pick it up for nearly half the price.
On Amazon, the iPhone 16 is selling for Rs 69,999 after a 12% discount. There are also no-cost EMI options and up to Rs 3,000 savings for Amazon Pay ICICI Bank credit card users. The biggest catch? Amazon is offering an exchange discount of up to Rs 36,050. Combine that with bank offers, and the effective price can drop below Rs 40,000 – a deal hard to ignore.
On the other hand, Flipkart is tempting buyers with its own offers. The phone is listed at Rs 71,399 after a 10% discount, along with a special price cut of Rs 8,501. There are bank offers too: 5% cashback for Flipkart Axis Bank and SBI cardholders, and 8–10% cashback (up to Rs 1,600) for HDFC Bank users on credit, debit, or EMI transactions. Add in no-cost EMIs starting at Rs 5,950 per month and an exchange discount of up to Rs 61,700, and the effective price becomes highly competitive.
For those eyeing an iPhone upgrade, this could be the best time to grab the iPhone 16. The iPhone 17 series is set to debut on September 9 at Apple’s “Awe-Dropping” event at 10:30 PM IST, with sales in India expected to begin from September 19.
