Xiaomi has begun deploying its newest HyperOS 3 software update, which is based on the latest Android 16, to a wider range of smartphones and tablets across its portfolio. This operating system (OS) debuted with the Xiaomi 17 series in September and expands the availability of Android 16 to more Xiaomi, Redmi, and Poco devices in India. The HyperOS 3 update integrates deep AI capabilities and UI refinements, along with new system animations and widgets.
HyperOS 3 update: Rollout details and eligible devices
Xiaomi India's Associate Director of Marketing and PR, Sandeep Sarma, has revealed that the brand has started rolling out the HyperOS 3 update to its select devices. This includes the Xiaomi 14, Xiaomi Pad 7, Redmi Note 14 5G, Redmi 13, Poco F7, and Poco M7 Pro 5G. If you are using any of these devices, head out to Settings, scroll to My Device, tap the HyperOS banner at the top, and select Check for updates to see if you have received the HyperOS 3 update.
If your device has received the HyperOS 3 firmware, you will see a Download and Install Update option. After this update has been successfully downloaded, the device will restart a few times to complete installation. Further, the HyperOS 3 update will extend Android 16 across all of these Xiaomi, Redmi and Poco devices.
HyperOS 3 introduces many interface-level changes first unveiled in September. For starters, we get HyperIsland, a pill-shaped notification area at the top of the display that shows alerts and live activities. It also reveals the charging speed when the device is plugged in, and displays necessary live notifications. HyperOS 3 also integrates Xiaomi’s HyperAI features, which include AI-powered writing tools such as smart screen recognition and DeepThink mode. The update also introduces various other AI tools, expanding the usability of artificial intelligence in our daily lives.
