  • 80W fast charging and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 tipped for X80 GT
  • Non-GT variant may offer a 10,000mAh battery

Honor may be preparing to launch another smartphone in China, which focuses on providing extreme battery life. The company recently launched multiple smartphones with large battery capacities, with the Honor Win 5G coming with a massive 10,000 mAh battery capacity. Now, a new leak suggests that the company could raise the bar even further, as a new upcoming smartphone could come with a massive 13,080mAh battery, far beyond what most other commercially available smartphones offer.

Honor X80 GT tipped to get the largest battery on a smartphone yet

According to tipster Sister Bear via Weibo, Honor could launch a new smartphone in the first half of this year, named the Honor X80 GT, which will likely feature a 13,080mAh battery. This could be one of the largest battery capacities ever seen in a mainstream smartphone and much larger than the 10,000 mAh battery capacity of the Honor Win 5G. For now, no additional specifications of the Honor X80 GT have been revealed.

Honor recently introduced the Honor Power 2 as well, which came with a 10,080mAh battery unit. However, the rumoured X80 GT would increase that capacity even further and could provide up to three days of battery life on moderate use. This also highlights a broader shift among Chinese smartphone brands toward larger batteries, supported by newer silicon-carbon cells, which help pack in a larger density battery without increasing the weight of the smartphone.

Further, a Chinese publication states that the upcoming Honor X80 GT could be equipped with 80W fast charging and is tipped to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip. There could also be a non-GT variant as well, which is rumoured to ship with a 10,000 mAh battery. This will be a big upgrade over its predecessor, the Honor X70, which comes with an 8,300 mAh battery.
