Amazon Prime Video

Starting June 17, 2025, Amazon Prime Video has started showing ads on the streaming platform. Users, as per reports, will see 4 to 6 minutes of ads per hour while watching movies and shows. However, Amazon has also added a new plan called “Ad-free plan” for users who want to keep the ad-free experience with Prime Video.

Here’s how you can remove ads from Prime Video:

Step 1: Log in to your Amazon account
Visit the Amazon website or open the Prime Video app on your device (Fire TV, smart TV, console, or set-top box).

Step 2: Go to Account Settings
Navigate to the top-right corner of the page or app and click on your profile. Select “Your Account” or “Settings” from the dropdown.

Step 3: Select the ‘Go Ad Free’ option
In the settings menu, you’ll see an option labelled “Go Ad Free.” Click on it to view the upgrade details and pricing.

Step 4: Choose your ad-free plan
You can choose between two options:
• Rs 129 per month
• Rs 699 per year
Note: This charge is in addition to your existing Prime membership, which costs Rs 299/month or Rs 1,499/year.

Step 5: Confirm and subscribe
Complete the payment to activate the ad-free add-on. Once subscribed, all Prime profiles linked to your account will stop showing ads during on-demand content.

Things to note
Even with the ad-free upgrade, some titles may still show short promotional trailers. However, these can be skipped.

This move by Amazon aligns it with other streaming platforms offering tiered plans. If you prefer uninterrupted viewing, the add-on could be worth the cost.
